At the end of a real annus horribilis, passed from the rainbow ambitions of the beginning of the year to fifth place overall and an endless series of problems, Pecco Bagnaia seems to have regained his smile in the saddle of the Ducati prototype 2026, with which he took part in the Valencia test, despite the tenth best time overall.

“For me it was a positive day – explained Bagnaia to the microphones of Sky Sports on the sidelines of the long timed session -. Compared to a few days ago the feeling is different, with this new bike I felt good right away. I tried different solutions, the times and pace were good, I am satisfied with how’it went”.

“I also tried a time attack with soft tires towards the end, but I had a small problem – added the Piedmontese rider -. In any case, we worked on mappings and fairings, not on times. I will go on vacation in a better mood than I was on Sunday: I think the base is very good”.

The one that just ended was, in fact, the worst season in the last five for Pecco Bagnaia, who had collected, in addition to the two World Championships won in 2022 and 2023, also two second places, in 2021 and 2024. Two races won by the rider with the number 63, in Texas and Motegi, two also Sprints, also in Japan and Malaysia.
