Interviewed by “La Provincia,” the GM of Acqua S.Bernardo Cantù, Sandro Santoro, takes stock of the situation: “I start from the overall data,” the executive began, “at home we still produced a lot, albeit in the initial difficulties dictated by the lack of knowledge of the players. We have won three times out of four, a positive statistic given that we lost only to Trapani, one of the strongest teams. At home, we are aware of the good path and, strategically, it will be the most important thing: winning at home as much as possible will determine with fewer problems the achievement of the’priority goal of salvation”.

Problems come on the road: “Away from home, beyond the games in Brescia, a team that is showing great potential, and in Trento, a game that creates problems even in evaluating it, in Sassari we showed little consistency in several parts of the court for almost the entire game and the final reaction was not enough. This is undoubtedly the most negative game. The derby we lost in Varese? We played it, still confirming some limitations, especially those related to the level of attention that Serie A requires us to have if we want to achieve results. We were in the game all the time, with a very good start, but now working to continue to have this path for more minutes in the game. It seems to me that the gap is getting shorter. However, we cannot be satisfied: the details that give us problems are not technical, physical or athletic, but often related to attention and too much superficiality. Proof of this is the figure of lost balls in Varese: few in the first half, eleven only in the second half.”

Sunday there will be a challenge against Virtus Olidata Bologna: “It is a long team, with many rotations, but with equivalent returns. We expect a major impact from them, but we will have to do our part: attention must be doubled. However, the stimulus of playing against the Italian champions at home, with a big crowd, should give us the’energy to give battle”.
