Portuguese AC Milan’s Rafael Leao spoke during CBS’s “Morning Footy” broadcast ahead of next Sunday’s derby with Inter Milan. Here are his words.

“All the players are ready for the match. We want to prepare this match well, it is the derby and Inter is a good group, they have created a good team. For us it&#8217s an opportunity to reach the top of the standings and you can already feel the mood of this weekend”.

“Last year was difficult, this year a lot of new players have arrived, but the club, the structure, everyone has done a great job: they brought a great director who works very well, they kept Ibra, they brought Allegri who has a lot of experience, they brought Luka Modric and I think these pieces are important for us, for the younger players.”

“Although we are not yet halfway through the season we want to achieve good results, but obviously step by step and Sunday is an opportunity to show what we can do. The coach doesn&#8217t ask me many things, he just told me, ‘be free’ and the most important thing is to stay focused and have the right mentality, because he knows what I can do with the ball and that I can help the team even without the ball”.

“It is more like a father when he asks a son to always do better in school and in life, to do things the right way. I feel happy and with a lot of confidence in every game because I know he is counting on me, he just asks me to be focus even after a goal, not to stop”.
