Meo Sacchetti and the signature you don’t expect

In the end, Meo Sacchetti, who after his farewell to the national team dated 2022 and led Cantù for one season before a parenthesis in Pesaro, has returned to sit on a bench, choosing to go down a category and accept the offer of the Fabo Herons Montecatini, a club playing in the Group A of the National B Series.
The announcement came a few days after Federico Barsotti, who was fatally defeated against Desio.
An announcement arrived just a few days after the exoneration of Federico Barsotti, to whom the ko against Desio was fatal: the young Tuscan club, founded in 2021, decided to rely on the former coach to climb a ranking that sees Fabo Herons at 14 points, occupying the seventh position tied with Omegna, Piacenza and Desio itself.
Sacchetti’s is certainly an unexpected signing, which sees the champion coach of Italy 10 years ago at the helm of Dinamo Sassari getting back into the game in the third series. Sacchetti, for that matter, is the first champion coach to sit on a National B Series bench: he is scheduled to make his debut on Saturday, Nov. 22, at home to Omegna, at PalaCipir in Gravellona Toce.
“Talking about Meo is almost superfluous – said Andrea Luchi, president of Fabo Herons Montecatini, at the presentation of the new coach -The results he has achieved at the Italian and international level speak for themselves. He has incredible motivation and he wanted to put himself on the line in B National: he is an invaluable added value”.
