Eighth success in this Tigotà Series A1 for Numia Vero Volley Milano, which in the sold-out Palasport of Cervia imposed with the partial score of 0-3 (16-25; 18-25; 27-29) on the newly-promoted Omag-Mt San Giovanni in Marignano. It was a one-sided match for coach Lavarini’s lineup, which only needed an hour and a half of play to emerge victorious from the challenge valid for the eleventh – and penultimate for Milan – day of the first half of the season.

Monologue Numia in the first two partials: after a point-to-point start, in both fractions Egonu and her teammates, thanks to a super Fersino – protagonist of an excellent performance in the second line – and to a Lanier in great prominence, were able to press on the accelerator and bring the score to 0-2. In the third and final set it seemed to be closed practice for Vero Volley, which, however, suffered the reaction of the hosts, led by a Piovesan in great form (14 points for her) and determined to extend the match. Five match balls were not finalized by Milan, which won the match following a second line foul.

Between the Milanese ranks, excellent performance of Khalia Lanier, awarded MVP of the match, scoring 19 points and supported in attack by captain Egonu, also in double figures with 18 balls put on the floor. Three precious points for the rosablu who thus climb back to third place in the standings with 26 points.

An intense week awaits Numia Vero Volleyball, engaged in a double home date: it starts on Wednesday, November 26 when, at 8 p.m., the Opiquad Arena in Monza will host Olympiacos for the first match of Pool C of the CEV Champions League. At the weekend – Sunday, Nov. 30, 5 p.m. – it will instead be a challenge to the Butterflies of Busto Arsizio, expected at the Allianz Cloud for the Lombardy derby.
