The Stefan Moody’s adventure in Varese has officially ended after less than two months in the league: the 33-year-old Florida-born has in fact found the’agreement to terminate his contract by mutual consent with the club and, in all likelihood, will choose a foreign destination after his brief and unsuccessful stint in Italy.

“Pallacanestro Varese announces that the consensual termination of the contract with Stefan Moody –was signed today, reads the note released Monday by the white-and-red club.

The player is to be thanked for his commitment during his time in Varese and wished him all the best for the continuation of his career”.

The work is on, then, to find a replacement in the booth of the director: in recent days the name of Jay-Jay Chandler had been mentioned, although the recent change of coach in Avellino has led the club to reevaluate the possible exit. Another papable, as reported by ‘Super Basket’ is Semaj Christon, currently in Israel at al’Elitzur Ironi Natanya but with more than decent experience in Italy between Pesaro, Tortona, Brescia, Pistoia and Vanoli Cremona. In any case, surprise solutions that could see other veterans as protagonists are not ruled out.

At the conclusion of the ninth day, with the stop that will keep the championship at a standstill until December 6, Varese is in the group of the penultimate with 4 points, the result of two wins against seven losses. In the home game played Sunday against newly-promoted Udine, the red-and-whites lost 66-59, thus missing what would have been the second win in a row after the one also at home against Cantù.
