Olimpia Milano, Ettore Messina resigns, in his place Peppe Poeta

Only the officiality is missing but from confirmed rumors Ettore Messina has resigned as head coach of EA7 Emporio Armani Milano.
The decision reportedly came after the 86-82 loss in Trieste. Olimpia president Pantaleo Dell’Orco chose as Messina’s replacement Peppe Poeta, first assistant coach and already designated successor for next season.
Messina spent six full seasons on the Meneghina bench winning three Scudetti, two Italian Cups and three Italian Super Cups and reaching the Euroleague Final Four in 2021.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Messina will remain at Olimpia as Dell’Orco’s personal adviser since his contract as President of Basketball Operations will expire in 2026.
