Nick Kyrgios entered in the Kooyong Classic in Melbourne

Nick Kyrgios has not been on the ATP circuit since the Miami Masters 1000 last March, where he lost 7-6 6-0 to Russian Karen Khachanov in the second round. Now, however, he is preparing to return to play.
The 30-year-old Australian has in fact registered for the Kooyong Classic on Melbourne’s concrete, a three-day exhibition tournament scheduled for Jan. 13-15, in which Matteo Berrettini, Aleksandr Bublik, Marin Cilic, Flavio Cobolli, Hubert Hurkacz, Karen Khachanov, Lorenzo Musetti, Learner Tien, and Zhang Zhizhen will also participate.
After numerous knee and wrist surgeries in the past three years, the whimsical Aussie tennis player, who rose to world No. 13 and has now plummeted to 666, will test his condition ahead of the Australian Open, where he will need a wild-card to participate, which he will most likely be granted as a home favorite.
