The sporting director of Ducati Gigi Dall’Igna in his final balance of 2025 spoke about the difficulties of Pecco Bagnaia: left to duel with Marc Marquez for the world title, the Piedmontese rider has instead closed in the overall standings with a bitter fifth place after a nightmarish season.

“The factory team has suffered for Pecco, to whom luck has spared nothing, it must be said – explained the Ducati executive -. Especially in the final part of the year he was not able to collect as much as he could have, even in non-optimal situations. Surely things had to be different, but if you add bad luck, everything becomes even more difficult, both for the team and the rider”.

According to Dall’Igna, it is important for Bagnaia to draw “valuable lessons” from what happened: “I think situations like this should be absorbed as if they were antibodies, to draw from them even more determination to move forward, and get back to being themselves”.

“In other words, it is a lesson that needs to be learned: after all, in 2026 we will inevitably encounter great unknowns to deal with, so we need to treasure what happened in our recent past”,

closed Dall’Igna.
