The Champions League match between Pafos and Monaco is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. Wednesday. With one win, two draws and only one loss, the Cypriots are enjoying an excellent first half of the league phase.

Outdoors David Luiz and his teammates have picked up two important 0-0 draws, first against Olympiacos and then against Kairat Almaty, in both cases managing to hold on despite being outnumbered. At home, after the heavy 1-5 loss to Bayern Munich, a historic victory came against Villarreal: a 1-0 win signed by Luckassen early in the second half. Results that keep the playoff dream open, and a success against Munich would bring them even closer.

The Principality’s eleven also scored their first victory at this stage thanks to a 0-1 win on the field of Bodo/Glimt (who were beaten again at home by Juventus on Tuesday, ed.), decided by Balogun at the end of the first half. The team of Belgian coach Pocognoli, who took over from Austria’s Hütter at the beginning of October, had previously picked up two home draws against Manchester City and Tottenham, after the heavy 4-1 loss they suffered on their debut against Club Brugge.

Probable lineups

Pafos: Michael; Bruno, Luckassen, David Luiz, Pileas; Goldar; Šunjić, Pêpê; Oršić, Jajá; Dragomir
