Bologna overwhelms Salzburg on the fifth day of the Europa League single group stage. At the Dall’Ara, Vincenzo Italiano’s men get their third win in a row, overcoming the Austrians 4-1: Odgaard, Dallinga, Bernardeschi and Orsolini

scored.

Good start for the hosts who, after a mistake by Odgaard from a few steps, found the lead on 26′ with a shot by the same Dane deflected by Gadou. Only seven minutes passed and the guests evened the score with Vertessen’s tap-in. Immediate reaction of the red and blue but Dallinga’s volleyed conclusion is printed on the post.

In the second half, however, Bologna took the lead again: at 51′ Dallinga took advantage of Miranda’s filtering pass and beat Schlager with a diagonal left-footed shot; two minutes later, the Emilians dropped their third with Bernardeschi’s winning header. It is a terrible one-two by the hosts who finally close the talks at’86 with Orsolini’s goal.

Thanks to this victory, Bologna climbs to 8 points, in the middle of the play-off zone, while Salzburg remains stuck at 3, relegated to the last positions.
