F1, Lando Norris: all the combinations to win the World Championship in Qatar

Lando Norris feels the World Champion title getting closer and closer. At the end of the Sprint, won by teammate Oscar Piastri, the Briton retained a reassuring lead over the Australian (+22 points) and increased the gap to Max Verstappen. The Red Bull Dutchman is now at -25 points, exactly the points he takes home by winning the GP. In short, Lando Norris can already celebrate what would be his first World Championship as early as Qatar. Given McLaren’s on-track performance, it is clear that the chances of closing all talks at the penultimate round of the season are quite high.
To play it safe and enjoy the win big time, Lando Norris should win the race (to remember that he starts second on the grid, behind Oscar Piastri). That way, he would not even have to worry about the positions of his two rivals. By winning the Qatar GP he would be, mathematically, World Champion and he would do it in the best way possible, putting everyone behind him. That’s not the only way to pop the champagne and kick off a long series of celebrations. There are many other combinations that would give him a long-cherished title that, never more than now, he feels very close.
For example, second place finish might be enough for him, provided Max Verstappen does not cross the finish line first and Oscar Piastri does not finish on the podium. He could also settle for the bottom step of the podium if Max Verstappen does not finish in the first two positions and his teammate finishes at least fifth. In short, Lando Norris really has a real chance to close the file already in Qatar. After a long chase against Oscar Piastri and after withstanding Max Verstappen’s resounding comeback in the last GPs, the Briton is one step away from becoming World Champion for the first time in his career.
