L'Atalanta reawakens and returns to winning ways in A after two months: Fiorentina increasingly last

First win in Serie A for Raffaele Palladino’Atalanta: La Dea returned to winning ways in the league after two months, overcoming Fiorentina 2-0 thanks to goals by Kossounou and Lookman in the match valid for the 13th day of the championship. Thanks to this result, Atalanta climbs back up to 11th position on 16 points, the Viola remain desolately last on 6 points along with Verona.

First half entertaining and played openly between Atalanta and Fiorentina: the two goalkeepers, Carnesecchi and De Gea, are decisive on several occasions. Odilon Kossounou breaks the ice: at 41′ the Dea defender finds the lead with a shot-cross from outside the area that surprises De Gea, putting the hosts ahead.

At the beginning of the second half came the Orobico double, signed by Lookman, who arrived quickest of all on the rebound after De Gea’s splendid save on De Ketelaere’s earlier header. Atalanta’s one-two caused the guests to lose confidence, as they risked conceding the third goal in 54′ (De Gea again decisive on De Roon) and generally struggled to build chances near Carnesecchi’s goal.

The goal was scored in the second half of the season.

On 65′ Kean has a great opportunity to reopen the game but Scamacca saves everything on the goal line, ten minutes later again the Azure hit the post with Carnesecchi beaten. It ends without any further jolts: Fiorentina struggles but arrives in December without yet having won in the league, Atalanta relaunches.
