Inter market, Serie A duel for Davide Frattesi

Davide Frattesi is finding very little space in Christian Chivu&#8217s Inter: the midfielder has so far collected just 390 minutes spread over 12 games between Champions League and Serie A. The former Sassuolo man is evidently out of Chivu’s plans and would like to make a change as early as January to move to a team that can guarantee him more minutes. Lazio has been on his trail for some time: Maurizio Sarri holds him in high esteem and already last summer wanted to bring him to Rome in exchange for Nicolò Rovella, then the deal fell through. Also watch out for Napoli, with Antonio Conte determined to revive the 1999-class midfielder.

Yann Sommer, 36, is on contract expiration and renewal with Inter seems uphill

Even if he were to stay, the Swiss would almost certainly not be the starting goalkeeper

L’Inter is aware of Davide Frattesi’s discontent but would like to avoid selling him to Lazio and, above all, Napoli in January so as not to reinforce the competition this season. Much, however, will depend on the midfielder’s willingness: if Frattesi will put his foot down, it will be difficult for the Nerazzurri management to thwart his departure. More defiladed is the position of Juventus: in the past, the Bianconeri have sounded the ground and there had even been talk of a possible exchange with Manuel Locatelli but the hypothesis has cooled and the Old Lady has other market priorities such as the purchase of a new center forward.

In addition to the Davide Frattesi issue, there is also much discussion within the Inter management about the future goalkeeper. Yann Sommer’s contract is expiring and the chances of renewal are very close to zero, which is why Beppe Marotta has already set to work to identify the Swiss player’s heir. The Nerazzurri club has Josep Martinez in its roster who, at the moment, does not seem to give the right guarantees to become the heir of the current Swiss number one. It would be looking for a different profile, already ready for a role certainly not easy. Among the many papabili there would be, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, also the name of Vicario.

The Tottenham goalkeeper is not having a great time at Spurs. Booed against Fulham for a mistake he made, the national team goalkeeper is reportedly considering a return to Serie A. Inter is reportedly monitoring the situation so as to understand whether or not there are conditions to try to convince Tottenham to sell Vicario (he is under contract with the English club until June 2028). For personality and international experience, the 29-year-old former Cagliari and Empoli player, among others, could be the right profile for Inter, although there would be many other names in play.
