Ferrari’s Monegasque Charles Leclerc will again be joined, exactly as in 2024, by his younger brother Arthur in the first free practice session of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the final round of the Formula One World Championship. The Leclerc brothers made history 12 months ago in the same session and on the same circuit; it was the first time two brothers took to the track together as teammates in the top motorsport category. Arthur will take Lewis Hamilton&#8217s place in the SF-25 and will complete the last mandatory session for Ferrari&#8217s rookie drivers this year, with Sweden&#8217s Dino Beganovic (in Bahrain and Austria) and Italy&#8217s Antonio Fuoco (in Mexico) having already driven for the Maranello team in 2025 as a third driver.

Martino DavidiCharles Leclerc blurts out over the radio, the’incredible response at the worst time

Charles Leclerc experienced another weekend to forget.
While Verstappene, Norris and Piastri were fighting for victory and the world championship, the Monegasque saw the podium through the telescope.
From the pits they tried, however, to cheer him up and motivate him.
Bryan Bozzi over the radio informed Leclerc that in Turn 12 he was the best of all.
Leclerc however did not take it well at all.

The answer was clear: "Let’s stop this, I am slow".
Lewis Hamilton has fared even worse but there's little to celebrate.
Only one Grand Prix to go before the end of this nightmarish season.
Zero wins with the negative streak now getting heavier and heavier.
In 2026 it will take a whole'other single-seater to play for the title.
McLaren and Red Bull but also Mercedes seem far away.

“Charles and I are very happy to drive together again in the first free practice. It is very exciting to be in a car on the’other side of the pit than him” said Arthur. “From a technical point of view, driving the car on the track is always useful for us drivers who mainly support the team with our simulator work in Maranello. It helps us provide better feedback to the engineers”. Young Leclerc finished 18th in last year&#8217s first free practice session at the UAE circuit, before taking part in the young driver test after the Grand Prix weekend.

Previously, the 25-year-old Monegasque raced in F2 in 2023, before occupying the last two years as a development driver for Ferrari, also racing in sports cars this season. “As far as physical preparation is concerned, I have been working mainly on my neck, which is the area where you feel the G-forces the most, and I have also been doing a lot of cardiovascular work – he added. From a technical point of view, I have obviously been working a lot in the simulator to be as prepared as possible. My job will be to provide useful feedback on what we are testing and collect as much data as possible to improve the correlation between performance on the track and the results we see at the simulator in Maranello”.

Arthur Leclerc, born Oct. 14, 2000, on the single-seater side won the Formula Regional Asia championship in 2022, in Formula 3 he finished tenth in 2021 and sixth in 2022, and in Formula 2 he finished fifteenth in 2023.
