Busto Arsizio still amazes everyone off the field: teen novel

UYBA Busto Arsizio

As always, UYBA Volleyball Busto Arsizio continues to surprise its fans with creative and out-of-the-box communication initiatives. If last year the club had launched the music project “UYBA Let’s Go!”, a real album of songs dedicated to the red and white world, this year the baton passes to literature: in fact, a teen novel is released today that tells about the more emotional and human side of volleyball. The book, entitled “UYBA – Under the Net. When Friendship Becomes a Team,” tells the story of Marco and Sara, two teenagers bound by a special friendship and an overwhelming passion for UYBA Volleyball. Each match is a ritual for them, a moment of identity and belonging. After an exciting victory, a chance encounter with their favorites turns into a journey that will lead them to discover that volleyball is not just a sport, but a language of growth, courage and authentic relationships.

Signing the book is Giorgio Ferrario, the club’s communications manager, who brings to the page the sensitivity, experience and heart of those who live UYBA from the inside, every day. Inside the volume there is also an exclusive special: “UYBA Postcards,” a collection of 14 original photographs taken by photographer Gabriele Alemani, designed not only to accompany the reader into the team atmosphere, but also to be autographed by the butterflies. All in a convenient pocket format, perfect to take with you even to the arena during games. Ithe book will be presented next Thursday, Dec. 18, during the UYBA Sponsor Meeting, the traditional monthly event that brings together companies and partners in Casa UYBA.

Against the hosts of Osasco São Cristóvão Saúde, meanwhile, came Savino Del Bene Volleyball’s second 3-0 victory in the Club World Cup, a success of great weight because it came in a crucial match to get closer to the goal of finishing the round A in first place. Coach Gaspari’s lineup was able to impose itself in an environment made red-hot by the home torcida, showing solidity in key moments and great continuity throughout the three sets. In the first fraction, after a long point-to-point and the maximum Brazilian lead on 16-13, Savino Del Bene Volleyball came back thanks to Antropova, Skinner and Weitzel, finding in the advantages the decisive blow: Antropova’s wall on Cugno and Baird’s final error for the 29-31.

The second set saw Scandicci start with pace and precision: Skinner leading the way and Antropova incisive on serve, while a wall by Weitzel marked the decisive break before the close signed by Antropova (22-25). In the third set, the Italian team quickly took control, with Nwakalor and Weitzel dominant at the net and Skinner devastating on the counterattack: partial always in the hands of Savino Del Bene Volley, which stretched to the final 15-25. On a statistical level, the individual performances of Skinner, scorer of 23 points, and Antropova, who put up 21 points, stood out. On the team level, Savino Del Bene Volleyball finished with 54% in attack, 48% positive reception (26% perfect), 9 winning walls and 4 aces, showing an overall performance superior to that of the opponents.
