Six Blue Women to conquer Mexico

There will be a lot of Italy in the 2026 edition of the Liga Mexicana de Softboll (LMS), the prestigious Mexican softball championship that will kick off at the end of January 2026. In fact, six Italian athletes will take part in the tournament, which was won in 2025 by the Diablos Rojos del México, confirming the now well-established link between the Mexican movement and that of Bel Paese.

The Bravas de León have confirmed in their roster Marta Gasparotto and Giulia Longhi, already protagonists in the past season and ready to give continuity to their path in the LMS. El Águila de Veracruz, on the other hand, will restart with Ilaria Cacciamani, who has also been confirmed, and will flank the Italian pitcher with a major addition, Erika Piancastelli, making her full debut in the Mexican league.

Also among the new additions is Giulia Koutsoyanopulos, announced by the Naranjeros and ready for her first LMS experience. The latest formalization came from the Diablos Rojos, defending champions, who have added Elisa Cecchetti to their roster, thus adding another piece of quality to the team that won the 2025 edition.

The LMS will be held in the LMS.

The participation of six Italian players represents an important signal for the international growth of Italian softball, which finds space in a young but already competitive league, capable of attracting high-level athletes and offering a high-profile technical context.
