For the 23rd round of the Euroleague regular season, Virtus Bologna hosts Fenerbahce (2:00 p.m. ball at 8:30 p.m.). A decidedly complicated challenge for Coach Ivanovic’s team. Fener is the reigning European Champion and can count on many champions, including national team captain Melli, former Olimpia Milano. Clearly, the court factor could make the difference. It is not easy for anyone to win in Bologna, not even for coach Jasikevicius’ super Fenerbahce.

“Probably the most difficult game we have in front of us, because Fenerbahçe is a really strong team, they play well and most importantly, now that Nando De Colo has arrived, they have perhaps become the favorite to win the Euroleague’Euroleague. We have to play with great commitment and concentration to win these kinds of games” Ivanovic’s comment to Euroleague. The Black Vs coach has a reason to smile: Edwards, the team&#8217s all-star, will be of the match.

Vildoza and Smailagic (both out due to physical problems) will not be there, however. Extra work coming up for center Diouf: “It will be a tough match both mentally and physically: Fenerbahce is a great team, full of talented players. We will have to keep the same energy and approach for all 40 minutes. We are missing some players, but that should not be an excuse; rather, it should be an extra motivation to do better” his clear words again to the official Euroleague website.

At the moment, Virtus Bologna has a perfectly even record between wins and losses: 11-11. It occupies 11th place in the overall standings, -2 wins behind the Zalgiris-Red Star pair (who have played an extra round). In short, nothing is lost.

Just with a win, the chance to grab a spot in the post season would still be possible. Virtus Bologna also has the’chance to break away from Olimpia Milano, which lost, badly, on the court of Real Madrid and now has a negative record (11-12).
