Juventus is enjoying its th consecutive victory in the Champions League, achieved in Turin against Benfica, and a ranking that is once again smiling at the Bianconeri. Meanwhile, however, the next league match, next Sunday, will be against Napoli. A challenge that is anything but trivial, neither for the current coach of the Old Lady, Luciano Spalletti, who won the first Scudetto of his career in Campania, nor for the leader of the reigning Italian champions, Antonio Conte.

Filip Kostic really starts his fourth season at Juventus after a troubled start.
The player was practically on the sidelines of the Juventus project with Igor Tudor.
He's been rediscovered by Luciano Spalletti: from redundancy he is back an important resource.

If Spalletti were to do well on the Juventus bench, Kostic would also benefit.
The chances of staying in Turin again next season would definitely increase if Spalletti takes the team to the Champions League.
The'adventure of the Serbian outfielder might not end next June.
Kostic’s contract expires in 2026.
The Serbian outfielder arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt in the'summer of 2022.

Interviewed by ‘Sky Sport’ after the victory over Benfica, Spalletti was teased precisely about next Sunday’s clash against Napoli. And his answer came, albeit after a ’hesitation of a few seconds. “Yes, a little bit you think about it – said the Juventus coach -For the moment, however, let&#8217s finish enjoying this game here. Because it just ended and it was not a given to win it. In fact, it is a great achievement. Especially since the Champions League playoffs are the first goal of the season, and they also reminded me that we haven”t scored against Benfica for several years.

Juventus’ night, as Spalletti himself admitted, was by no means easy against Benfica: “There were no great chances for anyone. They are good at ball handling, however, and after the first quarter of an hour they dug space for us in the middle. We maybe left a little bit’ of space, then good for them to take it. We threw away some yards and quiet, but we also built our chances with Miretti and David. When the second half started we got even more agitated after losing a few balls. Then we relaxed and managed to win, even without looking good or clean as happened in the previous two games”.

The feeling of a constantly improving Juventus remains. “I try to find more and more things in these guys – explained Spalletti -, but the protagonists are them. Even the players know this, I say it constantly. They must always show their quality, play with the radar on. Only sometimes they disconnect, and after recovering the ball we give it away to the opponents”.

So Spalletti&#8217s last tactical consideration about his Juventus: “If you spend too much energy in the defensive phase, it becomes more complicated to restart. All the more so if the other team on the field is called Benfica, with the high level of technique they manage to put into their matches. If they force you to chase, then you struggle and throw away very useful energy”.
