Lorenzo Sonego, ticks off wrist problem before knockout with Lorenzo Musetti

Lorenzo Sonego analyzed the derby defeat that cost him elimination from the Australian Open: “Musetti played incredible, making very few mistakes. I tried to be aggressive and build my points, but I think I can do better than that. That said, he played a great game. However, I am proud of myself, because I stayed inside the match until the end”.
There was, however, one problem that affected at least the’approach to the match: “The match had been prepared well and there was no shortage of opportunities. I can definitely raise the level and reduce errors, especially forehand. However, I was coming from a complicated week because of a wrist problem: I trained very little and the forehand was the shot that bothered me the most. Fortunately, in the last few days it improved a lot and I was able to play these matches to the best of my ability”.
“Right now I think I can perform well a little bit everywhere– concluded Sonego. “My game has always adapted to all surfaces. The main thing is to be well physically and mentally and keep working. I am on a path that I believe in a lot, I have confidence in myself and what I am doing. I am confident that I can do well: matches like this must give me confidence”.
