Here we go again: new social controversy for former swimming champion Federica Pellegrini and her husband and former coach Matteo Giunta. Triggering the new online storm was a harsh post that Giunta wrote criticizing parents who send their feverish children to the nursery school. “I am addressing those parents who send their feverish children to daycare. You are irresponsible p… of m…!”, is the’explicit message the 43-year-old former swimming coach penned on his Instagram profile.

Jannik Sinner’s fans went on a rampage against the'former Olympic champion after the Blue’s triumph at Wimbledon

Initially Federica had responded piqued to the hundreds of responses, now she seems to have chosen irony and'indifference
Reactions to the video were, however, harsh
"You have made a great impression of… speaking of Sinner , congratulations indeed, ugly beast envy", "Now you reap what you have sown, what hater are you talking about in this ridiculous little scene", is the tenor of the comments
"Most of the writers do not belong to the category of haters…they are simply sports or sports lovers, who are disappointed by your behavior as a person", "Neither do these gags make you likeable", and so on…

The post was then shared by Federica, who commented as follows on her profile: “Understanding that if it is not on Instagram it does not exist… I apologize to all the people who were working on ‘engagements’ that I had to cancel this week!!”. The couple has a two-year-old daughter, Matilda, who evidently became ill at the’daycare center, later infecting the parents themselves. “Difficult week, very”, wrote Divine again, who in a few months (in April) will become a mother for the second time.

The couple is very sensitive about the issue, partly because in early December Matilde had been hospitalized with a severe fever. “My daughter suffered from febrile convulsions – the Divine had told Verissimo -. The doctors told us that they have their course, the important thing is that they do not exceed a certain time frame. I must say that they are very bad moments, because she turns her eyes back, stiffens up and doesn’t respond for a few seconds. For things like that you never know what to do”.

Social media were inevitably divided, between those who criticized Giunta and Pellegrini for harsh words and those who agreed with them. The former blue swimmer has very often been in the’eye of the storm of various controversies on social, such as the one related to Jannik Sinner and the Clostebol case.

On that occasion the champion spoke of “favorable treatment” for the then world number one, who was disqualified for three months by Wada. Her statements provoked a hostile reaction from many of the Blue’s fans.
