Carrarese gets derby and overtaking a wasteful Empoli
At the Stadio dei Marmi, Carrarese won the Tuscan derby over Empoli and did so with a robust 3-0, the result of its cynicism but also of the imprecision of the guest attackers, Shpendi above all.
The hosts ended the first half ahead thanks to Illanes’ header off Zuelli’s corner. In the second half, Empoli had chances in industrial quantities to equalize but did not take advantage of them and was once again chastened, this time by Zanon: The lateral followed the action and bagged the winning tap in with his header after Fulignati’s save on a still starring Zuelli. Then came also the 3-0, signed by Abiuso.
