Marco Spissu may return to Italy: open dialogue

Stefano Sardara is in Zaragoza with the team for Dinamo’s last European game of the season. As La Nuova Sardegna reports today, the president of the island club cares little about the result, not least because both teams are already out of the FIBA Europe Cup playoff race. Rather, the focus would be on a prospect target: Marco Spissu, with whom they want to reopen dialogue with a view to next season.
It is not openly talked about, but the club’s idea would be to try to bring back to Sassari one of the fans’ most beloved exes. In the first game at PalaSerradimigni, the affection shown to the point guard and the presence of Achille Polonara, to whom Spissu is very close, would have created the right climate to start thinking about next season.
The club’s idea is not openly discussed.
In the Liga Endesa 2025-2026 championship, Spissu played 19 games always starting from the bench, averaging 19 minutes and 12 seconds, 4.6 points, 1.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists. In the standings Zaragoza is 14th, paired with Gran Canaria, with a two-win margin over the relegation zone.
After his farewell to Dinamo, Spissu’s move to Málaga was announced on July 28, 2021, with which he signed a two-year deal. The experience, however, came to an end almost immediately: on August 12, the Spanish club announced the termination of his contract following his failure to pass medical examinations.
A few days later, on August 19, came the official transfer to UNICS Kazan, where he continued the season. On July 20, 2022, he signed a new contract with Reyer Venezia, returning to the Italian league.
Finally, on June 21, 2024, a two-year deal with Zaragoza was announced, marking a new chapter in his career.
