Sofia Goggia leads the charge: here are the 19 qualified Azzurri. Dates and times of finals

The races held over the weekend in Courchevel and Are completed the selection of athletes admitted to the Alpine Ski World Cup finals, scheduled for Saturday, March 21 to Wednesday, March 25 between Kvitfjell (downhill and super-giant) and Hafjell (giant and slalom). The top 25 in the specialty rankings will enter, along with reigning Olympic champions, junior world title holders and skiers with at least 500 points in the overall standings.

Italy fields a total of nineteen representatives (9 men and 10 women), thanks to eight seasonal victories and twenty total podiums won on the circuit. On the men’s side, there are six Azzurri qualified for the Downhill: Giovanni Franzoni (currently ranked third), Dominik Paris (fourth), Florian Schieder sixth), Mattia Casse (11th), Benjamin Alliod (19th) and Christof Innerhofer (22nd).

In the SuperG there will be Giovanni Franzoni (sixth), Dominik Paris (ninth), Mattia Casse (15th), Christof Innerhofer (19th) and Guglielmo Bosca (20th). In the Giant’s finals Alex Vinatzer (ninth), who will also be at the start in the slalom (where he occupies 17th position), along with Tommaso Sala (19th).

For the women’s races, there are five Italian women racers who will participate in the downhill: Laura Pirovano (ranking leader and in the running for the specialty cup), Sofia Goggia (seventh), Nicol Delago (ninth), Elena Curtoni (20th) and Nadia Delago (23rd).

In SuperG: Sofia Goggia is the leader of the ranking with a margin of 63 points over second. Also participating with her will be Elena Curtoni (seventh), Laura Pirovano (11th), Roberta Melesi (16th) and Asja Zenere (24th).

In the Giant Slalom there are Lara Della Mea (11th), Sofia Goggia (16th), Asja Zenere (19th), Laura Pirovano (thanks to +500 points overall) and Anna Trocker (world junior champion in the discipline). In the Slalom three azure women: Lara Della Mea (14th), Martina Peterlini (25th) and Anna Trocker (junior world champion).
