Marc Marquez&#8217s renewal with Ducati has been taken for granted for weeks now, but the official announcement still has not come. The direct interested party, on the sidelines of an event of his sponsor, responded to reporters’ request for clarification, alluding to a possible future retirement.

“Everything is in order, both sides are happy. I asked Ducati to start the year, I didn&#8217t want to sign anything while I was injured. When you get injured, something drops in your performance, you don&#8217t know where 100 percent is. Sometimes it drops by 1 percent, sometimes by 20 percent. I have to keep evolving”, are the words reported by Motosprint.

After his injury in late 2025, the number 93 is taking his time to decide his future. The champion from Cervera has just won his ninth world title: “To retire is one of the most difficult things for a sportsman, to know when, how and why. I don’t think I can plan my retirement in the long term, it’s something I will feel when the time comes”.
