Giovanni Simeone away in the summer? He' a priority for a top club

Giovanni Simeone in the crosshairs of a top club for next summer. The Argentine striker has already scored seven goals in his time at Torino, and he is a point of reference for the Granata team in attack. His good performances have attracted the attention of several clubs, and among them would be River Plate.
According to rumors, Cholito would be a “top priority” for the Millionarios: new coach Coudet would be a great admirer of his. Simeone, who has a contract with Torino until 2028, grew up right in the River Plate youth academy, and made his professional debut with the Argentine club before moving to Italy.
With River he won the Copa Sudamericana in 2024 and the Copa Libertadores in 2015. In June, the Buenos Aires club could make a’significant offer to the player, who is now valued at around €5 million.
On the field, Cholito has also been able to establish himself as an indispensable element under the management of new coach Roberto D’Aversa, who took over the bench from Marco Baroni. Just on the coach’s debut on March 1, Simeone had punched his ticket in the 2-0 win over Lazio, opening the scoring on 21′ with a goal that took advantage of a misunderstanding between Provedel and Pellegrini. D’Aversa had praised his performance at the end of the game: “Giovanni played a three-quarter game because we knew we could find spaces between the lines. They showed me during the week that they could play together, the choice was simple”.
Memorable, in that circumstance, was also the Argentine striker’s exultation: Simeone had paid homage to Sal Da Vinci, winner of the 76th edition of the Sanremo Festival, by performing a dance in front of the camera and pointing the ring finger of his right hand with an explicit reference to “Per sempre sì”, the title of the song by the Festival champion. It was a gesture that did not go unnoticed, not least because of the sentimental bond that Cholito retains with Naples, the city where he played for three seasons, winning two Scudettos, and where Sal Da Vinci had performed in the partenopei’s Scudetto celebration.
