Milan defeated at the Stadio Olimpico by Lazio, and the dream of putting pressure on Serie A leaders Inter disappears. The 1-0 Biancoceleste victory signed by Gustav Isaksen is worth the Diavolo&#8217s -8 over their Nerazzurri cousins and rather risks opening new reflections. In fact, the fifth place, currently occupied by Juventus, is in turn only 7 points away and needs to be further secured after the flop in the Capital. Maurizio Sarri’s team, on the other hand, is smiling, with its second win in a row and also 7 points away from a position of no small interest: seventh place, currently occupied by Atalanta.

Even Atalanta had forced Inter to a home draw at the San Siro on Saturday afternoon, making Milan’s trip to the capital even more important. Too bad the evening of Massimiliano Allegri&#8217s men was extremely bad despite the hosts’emergency: Sarri has to throw 2005 class Edoardo Motta as a starter in goal and also give up Cataldi and Romagnoli. Yet, net of a great save by Provstgaard on Pavlovic, at the beginning of the match it is just Lazio: Isaksen wastes a great chance already in the first minutes, then Taylor hits the crossbar.

The team’s courage comes in the form of a great save by Provstgaard on Pavlovic.

Lazio’s courage is rewarded on 27′, when Estupiñan finally makes Milan fans forget the derby by losing a bloody ball (not the first of his match) to Isaksen, who gets in front of Maignan and beats him with a left-footed shot at the second post. The Rossoneri did not react, so much so that before halftime the biggest chance was still for the hosts: Maldini graced the team that was his father and grandfather’s with a sluggish finish over Maignan after a great restart.

Resumption with another Milan, which, however, slams against the Lazio defense. First it was Motta who barred the door to Pulisic, then Leao got a comeback from Gila by not taking advantage of Fofana’s intuition. Modric also tried, with a classy move thwarted by an unassuming conclusion.

Allegri plays his cards, including Nkunku, Fullkrug (for Leao, who does not take it well) and Athekame. The latter ends up at the center of a VAR check after contact with Taylor, but there&#8217s no penalty. Then Motta again armors the result on Nkunku, VAR cancels Athekame’s possible equalizer, and Sarri is sent off with time largely expired. His Lazio, however, also beat Milan in the meantime.
