The Ankara massacre also involves and shocks the soccer world. Among the 37 people who died in the suicide bombing was Kemal Bulut, the father of Galatasaray striker Umut Bulut.
The man fell victim to an explosion near a bus stop as he was returning home after attending Genclerbirligi-Galatasaray in Ankara. His son Umut had played for the entire match, which ended 1-1.
The tragedy involving the Turkish national has deeply touched his teammates, including former Inter Milan man Wesley Sneijder, who expressed his heartfelt condolences on Twitter: “I am terribly sad for you and your family. My prayers are with you.”
