Sky Racing Team VR46 also finally returns to the track for the first Moto3 Grand Prix of 2016 with three riders at the start. At the Losail circuit in Qatar, the green light will be turned on again for the KTMs of Romano Fenati, Andrea Migno and Nicolò Bulega.After the positive results of the last IRTA tests, the young Italian talents are ready to fight on track for their goals right from the first race.
Fenati to establish himself: the man from Ascoli aims to fight with the fastest riders from the first free practice sessions, strong of the excellent performances in the last tests in Jerez and Qatar. For Migno, the goal is to be among the top 15 from the first race, banking on the good feeling recorded last week. Ready to make his debut in Moto3 Bulega, who after his first GP experience with a wild card in Valencia, will make his official entry in the new championship. The young Italian, who amazed during the pre season, is looking forward to proving his worth on the track.
First, however, the Sky Racing Team VR46 trio, with Valentino Rossi and the other VR46 Riders Academy riders, will be engaged in a soccer match at the Aspire Dome in Doha on Thursday at 12 p.m. local time. Romano, Andrea and Nicolò will take the field against Xavi Hernandez’s boys. “El profe del Barcelona” currently plays and lives in Qatar.
“After a pre season so full of tests and results, I’m starting to count the hours until the first free practice on Thursday. The feeling with the bike is positive, I have found a good basic setup to adapt to most of the tracks and I am convinced that I can fight with the strongest from the first rounds. As always, the debut in Qatar has a special flavor,” Fenati said.
“Like every rider I can’t wait to get back on track and this time it won’t be for a test. I start my second season with Sky Racing Team VR46 with more experience and with a good preparation done with the whole team during my pre season. So I am motivated to do well and start off on the right foot right away,” added Migno.
“The moment I’ve been waiting for a while has finally arrived: my debut in the World Championship. I am really pumped up and motivated and it will be a unique thrill to ride under the lights in Losail. I will give my best to repeat the good things done in the last tests and get closer to the points zone already in this first race. I have never raced on most of the tracks in the championship and I have a lot to learn,” the comment from rising star Bulega.
