“So many things have changed, the tires look the same from the outside but for the riders the difference is significant. There is also a new electronics, which is the same for everyone, less sophisticated, it is more difficult to control the bike. Im any case, so far things have gone well, in testing we had a very good feeling. We are in a better position than last year,” were the first words of world champion Jorge Lorenzo in the highly anticipated (and tense) press conference in Losail, Qatar, where the 2016 MotoGp World Championship will kick off on Sunday.
“Going into the race, we will get used to these new conditions, things will go very well. This year will start off on the right foot, unlike last year,” continued the Yamaha centaur.
Is this the most balanced championship in history? “It’s possible.”
On the controversial ending of last season: “It brought more popularity, it was important for the sport, the Valencia race, it was, as they said, the race of the century. In any case, I won and I’m happy with what I did.”
