Inter-Atalanta, a challenge worth Europe.

Hands up who, at the beginning of the season, would have imagined that Gasperini’s Atalanta would be among the candidate teams for a place in the Champions League. Yet, at the moment, the Nerazzurri from Bergamo are in fifth place in the standings, only five lengths behind Maurizio Sarri’s Napoli.

“For the way the championship has gone, for the results made by Atalanta, perhaps we could have had a few more points,” the ‘Dea’ coach explained in an interview with Sky Sport. “I believe that first, second and third place are out of the objectives of all the teams chasing and that the fight is only for the Europa League. In March, there is nothing certain anywhere. Perhaps the most certain thing is me at Atalanta with whom I have a contract until next year: it is an environment in which I am very well.”

For Gasperini, the one against nter will be a challenge with his own past: “For what was my very short experience at Inter, I have no resentments, things have changed a lot, there is a new club now, it will be a very important club, it wants to take Inter to very high levels, it is a very important novelty for our soccer,” his words.
