Inter, Antonio Conte now takes off a few pebbles

The newly crowned Italian champion coach does not hide his satisfaction: “Restored credibility to the environment.”
Already strong from the arithmetic conquest of the title of Champion of Italy, Inter celebrated at San Siro with a bombastic 5-1 victory over the hapless Sampdoria. After the match, Antonio Conte spoke to the microphones of Sky Sport, without hiding behind false modesty. “The satisfaction is immense,” he said, “We have gone an entire round without losing. It’s something incredible.”
“I really put everything into it,” the Salento coach added. “It was the most difficult feat for so many reasons, to have done it with Inter gives me satisfaction. Because winning here is not something for everyone. Of course, then you only remember the successes, but there is so much suffering behind it. We have done something very nice in the space of two years.”
For Conte, it is a success that goes beyond the sporting result: “We have restored credibility to the environment, the club and the fans,” he said. “It is a different success from the others, this time I really have to enjoy it. The future? Then God sees and provides, they say.”
