It has not been raced there since 1993

The Formula 1 calendar has more and more new stages around the world. At the end of the season it will be raced for the first time in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, while in 2022 the stage will debut at the Miami circuit. But Lewis Hamilton would also like to go to another country.

In fact, the seven-time world champion told Formula 1’s official website that he would like to race in an additional location. “The place that I feel is really dear to my heart where it would be very important for me to have a Formula 1 race again is South Africa,” Hamilton said. I think there’s a big following there and I think it would be great to be able to show how beautiful that land is.”

The last race in South Africa was held at Kyalami in 1993 and could be back in contention to host a GP perhaps starting in 2023. Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has already expressed support for a return to the African continent.
