Cyclone Covid, the'NBA evaluates an alternative protocol

They would like to model themselves on what the NFL has already adopted.
After the large number of cases of Covid-19 positivity found in recent days – more than 90 athletes have entered the health protocol – the NBA is almost on its knees. Not a day goes by when at least one game is not postponed because of a confirmed outbreak in a given team, which thus cannot even reach the minimum number of athletes able to be part of the available players for all intents and purposes.
The most dramatic situation, at the moment, is that of the Brooklyn Nets, who can sadly count as many as 10 players positive for the virus. There is also a serious risk of skipping one of the big-matches scheduled for Christmas Day: the long-awaited clash with the Lakers in the arena that just from December 25 will be renamed Crypto.com Arena.
The National Basketball Association has thus decided to run for cover: it would be seriously considering, reports ESPN, the reduction of the quarantine period from 10 to 6 days, in the wake of what is already happening in the NFL. Obviously, before returning to practice and play, athletes will have to produce a test showing Covid negativity. The change to the protocol is under consideration by physicians and infectiologists who would be evaluating its actual applicability.
