Serena Williams is back: one year later she’s playing and winning immediately
Immediately a victory after a year’s absence.
The queen is back, and she’s quickly showing up. Serena Williams is back on the court, almost exactly one year after the last time. She had in fact stopped at Wimbledon 2021, forced to retire in tears after injuring her thigh during her match with Aliaksandra Sasnovich. The first match since then came, however, and it coincided with a victory.
Serena Williams is in fact busy at the Eastbourne tournament, where she is paired with Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur. Well, the two faced and beat the Spanish Sara Sorribes Tormo and from the Czech Marie Bouzkova, with the score of 2-6, 6-3, 13-11. Undeniable and impossible not to notice the great excitement of the U.S. outfielder, who now dreams of showing up pulled together in the upcoming Wimbledon tournament thanks to a wild card.
