Marc Marquez, Alberto Puig pressing on return date
Honda team manager Alberto Puig hopes to see Marc Marquez again as early as after the summer or at any rate before the end of the World Cup
Marc Marquez could return to the track as early as September, at the Misano Grand Prix. If Honda team manager Alberto Puig hopes so, he was clear at a press conference in Assen: “If it were possible, it would be good for Marc to be back on the bike after the summer or by the end of the year. It would be good especially for our engineers, to understand what direction to take. But the priority is the complete recovery of his arm. There is no doubt about that, that is how we will proceed.”
The Catalan rider still has his arm immobilized after the fourth operation sustained in Minnesota, but he does not feel bad and has very positive feelings. Without him, Honda has collapsed, “It’s not a good season for us,” Puig admitted, “We are not competitive and we have to improve, that’s what we are trying to do. The truth is that we have to change our procedures. In Honda’s history we have had more good times than bad; now it’s a bad time and we have to fix it.”
