Diego Nargiso warns Jannik Sinner and doesn’t mince words
Former tennis player gives his opinion on Sinner’s first-round opponent
Diego Nargiso, with ‘Il Corriere dello Sport,’ analyzed the challenges facing the Italians in the first round of Wimbledon, dwelling in particular on the challenge that will see Jannik Sinner opposing an old fox of tennis like Stan Wawrinka.
“He is a complicated opponent,” explained Nargiso, a Davis Cup finalist in 1998. Even if he is not getting good results now, he remains a loose cannon because he can always put in good tennis. Then he has experience, he was a champion capable of putting himself among the top 4.”
Sinner will face Wawrinka on Monday: in the two previous head-to-heads, dating back to 2019, it was the Swiss who prevailed, winning both times on concrete.
