From a former Juventus man comes a broadside for Matthijs de Ligt
Matthijs de Ligt is at the center of several market rumors: the player has publicly stated in recent weeks that he wants to strive for important goals, and the last two years at Juventus have certainly not been exciting.
Reached by TuttoJuve.com, Nicola Legrottaglie had this to say about the Dutch center-back: “If the boy was really convinced that he wanted to leave, I don’t know how much it would be worthwhile for Juventus to keep him against his will.”
“As characteristics I have always liked the player, however, I think he has never really fit into the environment. I never saw real leadership from him, from the outside he was perceived to be a bit on the sidelines compared to the group. Let’s say he didn’t really go out of his way to be liked. Substitutes? Bremer would be a worthy player, sure, but at a significant investment. Same with regard to Koulibaly.”
