Bardiani team busy in Romania

The Sibiu Cycling Tour, the Romanian stage race in which Bardiani CSF Faizanè will be involved along with six World Tour teams and several Professional and Continental teams, will kick off on Saturday, July 2.

The time trial-prologue is scheduled for Saturday, the first road stage from Sunday, and two semi-stages one in the morning and the other in the afternoon on Tuesday. At the start for Bardiani CSF Faizanè there will be six athletes, led in the flagship by Luca Amoriello and Mirko Rossato.

Among the announced leaders is Filippo Fiorelli, who showed excellent condition last Sunday at the Italian championships by finishing sixth, just behind the race’s leading quartet in which the newly crowned Italian champion Filippo Zana was present. With him were Enrico Battaglin and Luca Colnaghi, who were 12th and 13th respectively at the recent Italian road championships.

Space is also given to the team’s young athletes with Alessio Martinelli, ready to test his full recovery from injury ahead of the Giro della Valle d’Aosta, and Martin Marcellusi, back from a good Giro d’Italia U23 and active in the breakaway at the Italian championships. Another of the breakaways from the recent Italian championships, Manuele Tarozzi, completes the lineup.

The lineup:

Filippo Fiorelli (1994)

Enrico Battaglin (1989)

Luca Colnaghi (1999)

Alessio Martinelli (2001)

Martin Marcellusi (2000)

Manuele Tarozzi (1998)

DS Luca Amoriello, Mirko Rossato.
