F1, Lewis Hamilton “cancels out” Nelson Piquet
“I don’t know why we keep voicing these people who represent F1’s past,” thunders Hamilton.
Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton thundered again at a press conference in Silverstone against three-time world champion Nelson Piquet, who had apostrophized him with a term considered racist: “I’ve been receiving underhanded discrimination for a long time, and there’s nothing new about it, but I don’t know why we keep voicing these people who represent F1’s past, and no longer the present of the sport as we would like to experience it now.”
“The FIA had a knee-jerk reaction, which is there now all over the world when something like this happens, but it is not enough, we have to react: we must not give the platform to these people who think that I, or women, should not be part of this sport. We have to unite people, and not feel this discrimination,” the Mercedes driver concluded.
