“Valentino Rossi was Mr. MotoGp, even without him, yellow dominates the grandstands”

Multiple World Superbike champion Jonathan Rea in an interview with Motorsport-Total.com talked about the impact Valentino Rossi’s farewell has had on MotoGp: “I wouldn’t say it so dramatically, but certainly Valentino Rossi was a great workhorse. Even without him, the color yellow dominates the grandstands, he is Mr. MotoGP.”

Compared to the past, the roster seems inferior: “I am a fan of that old era, the era of Nicky Hayden, Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa, Jorge Lorenzo, Valentino Rossi, and Marc Marquez. But we cannot say that the new generation is slower. Now it seems that everything is very harmonious. This creates less drama than in the past. But it is unpredictable… In some races Quartararo is ahead by ten seconds, a race later he has to fight hard to be sixth. Ditto with KTM: they win and then suddenly they’re at the bottom of the standings. It’s hard to explain. I don’t understand it myself.”
