F1, Max Verstappen buried by booing: Lewis Hamilton’s reaction
The Silverstone crowd still hasn’t digested Verstappen’s world championship win last season.
A poisonous aftermath of the World Cup 2021 controversy was staged at Silverstone: British fans blatantly protested Max Verstappen, who was overwhelmed by booing from the crowd during his post-qualifying interview.
Home favorite Lewis Hamilton spoke on the issue, condemning the supporters’ behavior, “I think we are better than that, they shouldn’t do that. Of course the fans have strong emotions, and some of them may still feel sorry for what happened last year. But I don’t agree,” are the words to De Telegraaf.
Red Bull team principal Horner had this to say in recent days, “Next weekend we will have another home race in Austria, and I am sure it will be our team that will have vast support, with another 30,000 Dutch fans in attendance. This is sport, isn’t it? This is called competition.”
