No World Cup for the Settebello, the final goes to Spain.

Great heart and then immense disappointment for water polo Italy, which was able to force heavily favored Spain into penalties in the World Cup final. Here, however, it was the Iberian selection that prevailed 15-14, but only on penalties.

Parity in the first quarter, where the Azzurri had already been down by two goals. But this was not the only comeback of the evening against Spain, which was the favorite of the competition along with Greece.

On the other hand, in great growth was the Settebello, which was back from the disappointment at the Olympics, where it had not even reached the podium. Sandro Campagna’s revolution, however, came to a halt in the final, after a dream comeback in the third quarter. Here Italy in fact started -4 behind Spain, but then managed to pull back to -2 in the fourth period. Goals by an already decisive Di Fulvio against Hungary, Dolce and Presciutti were worth the incredible tie at 9-9. In the penalty shootout, however, Spain prevailed due to Cannella’s double mistake.
