Wimbledon, and great challenge it is: Jannik Sinner awaits Novak Djokovic
It will be super challenge in the quarterfinals.
After his great success over Carlos Alcaraz, the next round at Wimbledon will also give Jannik Sinner a top-level confrontation. Indeed, the South Tyrolean will face Novak Djokovic, who in just over two and a half hours got the better of Tim van Rijthoven.
The Dutchman, currently number 104 in the ATP ranking, has been the big surprise of this edition of Wimbledon. And he confirmed this against Djokovic as well, so much so that he forced him to win in the fourth set. And the Serb eventually managed to prevail with a final of 6-2, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. Problematic for the Serb in particular was the second set, which was ceded to a Van Rijthoven capable of taking his serve in the seventh game and never losing it again.
Djokovic, however, restored the hierarchy in the next two sets, both of which he hurried through within half an hour. Completely dominated the third, while in the fourth and final two breaks in the opening set and on 5-2 were enough, with the Dutchman in both cases able to bring home only one point.
