Wimbledon, Tatjana Maria doesn’t want to stop dreaming
In the semifinals he will take on Ons Jabeur
It was Tatjana Maria who won the German quarterfinal derby between two surprises of the Wimbledon women’s tournament: the 34-year-old, No. 103 in the Wta rankings, defeated Jule Niemeier (No. 97) 6-4, 2-6, 7-5, at the end of a real marathon that lasted two hours and twenty minutes.
In the semifinals, Tatjana Maria will face a very tough opponent: it is Ons Jabeur, who in her quarterfinal defeated Marie Bouzkova in three sets: 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 the score in favor of the Tunisian, who made up for a few too many errors in the first phase of the match with two decidedly dominant sets.
Wednesday’s other two women’s quarters: Ajla Tomljanovic will face Elena Rybakina, while Simona Halep will take on Amanda Anisimova.
