F1 Ferrari, Binotto warns Leclerc: “There are only 12 points…”
Maranello team principal Binotto leaves the confrontation between the two drivers wide open
Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz free to battle it out on the track. The sprint race at the Austrian GP, which saw Max Verstappen quietly triumph by taking advantage of the duel between the two Ferrari drivers, has not changed the mind of team principal Mattia Binotto, who is clear to Sky. “The drivers also know that if at some point one of them has a better chance of winning a World Championship, it is clear that we will do everything to give them a chance to win it. Both of them know that, it’s part of the agreement. Is it not yet the time to give team orders? Well there are only 12 points between the two.”
“We always act to maximize team results. This is what we have always shared with the drivers. Trying to make Ferrari win all the time and take as many points as possible-those are the goals,” Binotto concluded.
