Verstappen won the sprint race at the Austrian Grand Prix

Max Verstappen won the sprint race of the Austrian Grand Prix and will start from the first position in Sunday’s race. The Dutch driver held the lead from start to finish and was ahead of the two Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.

The two Maranello drivers dueled for a long time during the 100 km at the Red Bull Ring, with the Spaniard repeatedly undermining the Monegasque’s second position (at the start overtaking-counter-overtaking between the two Prancing Horse cars). Fourth was the Mercedes of George Russell.

Perez, who started 13th after the penalty, redeemed himself by climbing back up to 5th place. Badly for Hamilton, who will start only eighth on Sunday after a contact at the start that knocked out Gasly.
