Tour, Pogacar recounts initial fall
The Slovenian consolidated his leadership in the overall standings
Tadej Pogacar, third in the eighth stage of the Tour de France, consolidated his lead in the overall standings with the four-second bonus that allows him to stretch over Vingegaard, now at 39 seconds.
After the stage, the Slovenian of UAE Team Emirates expressed himself in these terms, “It’s too bad we didn’t win today, but it was still a fun day. The stage was long and with a lot of dangerous points, but I liked the finish and maybe I made mistakes and hesitated too much. I’ve always liked sprints, so I went for it feeling I had good legs. In the initial crash I was right in the middle and ended up on the ground too, fortunately nothing serious.”
