2B Control Trapani announced that it has reached an agreement with Omar Dieng, a 202-cm, 110-pound 2000 wing. The player has accepted the one-year proposal from Pallacanestro Trapani.
Dieng was born in Ponte San Pietro (BG) on February 17, 2000 and is a product of the Olimpia Milano youth sector. Since 2012, with the Milan club, he has played the whole trafila, gaining, in 2016, the first convocation with the National Under 16 team with which he collected 7 appearances. In the blue jersey he will play with all youth national teams up to the under 20.
In 2017 he moved to Barcelona and asserted himself in the Under 18 National Team (21 appearances), then basketball in the bigs arrived for him: first with Tezenis Verona (A2), then with Bergamo.
In the 2020/21 Dieng season, he decides to go down to Serie B and plays with the Sangiorgese (B) jersey getting an average of 8.7 points and 5.7 rebounds.
The last championship saw him star in the ride of Sebastiani Rieti that came to play the promotion final. In Rieti, Omar recorded 39 appearances writing an average of 8 points and 3 rebounds.
