Martina Trevisan untamable on clay

The magical period of Martina Trevisan continues, who after reaching the best ranking last Monday, July 11, becoming the number one in Italy – she occupies the twenty-sixth position in the world rankings -, has reached the quarterfinals of the WTA 250 tournament in Budapest, which is played on clay courts, a surface on which there is still imprinted the sprint to the semifinals of Roland Garros, in which our Martina surrendered only to the U.S. Cori Gauff.

In the round of 16, our player, the number two seed on the draw, overcame Ukrainian tennis player Kateryna Baindl, number 134 in the world rankings, with a score of 6-4 7-5, at the end of two rather tiring and hard-fought sets. In fact, in both partials she was forced to come back, especially in the second where she managed to recover an early 1-5 disadvantage.
